Dear EEA Friend,
While it is certain
that human activities have significantly increased concentrations of
greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and contributed to the enhanced greenhouse
gas effect, it is unclear exactly what the impacts of a changing climate will
be; it is clear that there will be important ecological and therefore human
ramifications. Since 1990, EPA reports the national greenhouse gas inventory annually
to track the national trend in emissions and removals. The national greenhouse gas inventory is
submitted to the United Nations in accordance with the Framework Convention
on Climate Change. President Barrack Obama re-iterated his
administration’s pledge to develop legislation this year that will establish
a cap-and-trade mechanism with intent to reduce United States
emissions of greenhouse gases. What

Energy Conference: A New Climate for Energy hosted by the U.S. Department
of Energy, Energy Information Administration (EIA). The conference is being held April 7-8th
at the Washington Convention Center.

to host a pre-conference workshop for the InfoCast “Offshore Wind Development Conference” in Washington,
D.C. from March 30th-April 1st. Michelle gave a talk entitled “Siting An Offshore Wind Park Off the South Shore of Long
Island” which focused on the initial desktop studies to determine the
